- Set up a passer, a wall player, and a defender (or cone) in a short channel.
- The passer starts with the ball about 10 yards from the wall player.
Instructions
- The passer plays the ball to the wall player and immediately sprints past the defender.
- The wall player returns a first-time pass into the space the passer is running into.
- The original passer receives in stride and continues toward the target (cone or small goal).
- Reset and rotate roles so everyone plays passer, wall, and defender.
Coaching Points
- The sprint has to start the instant the pass is released, not after watching it arrive.
- The wall player's return pass should be one touch whenever possible for speed.
- Lead the return pass into the runner's path, not directly at their starting spot.
- This combination works because of timing — rep it until the pass and run happen almost simultaneously.
Variation
Add a second defender to increase difficulty, or chain two give-and-go's together toward a full-size goal.
