This rebounding drill just needs a ball and four players, but a basic coaching-aid kit keeps the rest of practice moving.

- Four players: a shooter and three rebounders positioned around the key, at least one on the weak side (away from the ball).
- A coach or player feeds the shooter from various spots.
Instructions
- As the shot goes up, the weak-side rebounder sprints across the lane to box out and attack the ball.
- Strong-side defenders box out their nearest offensive player first, then pursue the rebound.
- Whoever secures the rebound outlets it to a designated spot to simulate starting a fast break.
- Rotate positions every few reps so everyone gets weak-side reps.
Coaching Points
- Move on the shot, not after it lands - anticipate where the ball is likely to come off the rim.
- Find a body to box out before chasing the ball.
- Secure the rebound with two hands at its highest point.
Variation
Add a second defensive rebounder to create live 2-on-2 rebounding pressure after the shot.
