Equipment Needed
- 6–8 cones
This drill runs on cones
A matched set of agility cones is the one piece of gear this drill is built around — worth having a dedicated set on hand.

- Set 6–8 cones in a line, about 3 yards apart.
- Players line up at the start, taking turns through the course.
Instructions
- Player weaves through the cones using short, quick steps, staying low.
- At the end of the line, sprint back to the start on the outside of the cones.
- Next player goes as soon as the course is clear.
- Run through the course 3–4 times each.
Coaching Points
- Stay low with bent knees throughout — standing tall slows down every change of direction.
- Short, choppy steps around each cone work better than big, committed strides.
- It's fine to knock over a cone; keep the pace moving rather than stopping to fix it.
- Eyes up and forward, not down at the feet.
Variation
Add a ball carry through the course once the pattern is comfortable, or race two players through parallel cone lines.
