Baseball Catching Drill: Catching Foot Speed Drill

This foot speed drill is great for catchers to develop the foot speed, and spring needed for popping up and making a throw to first, second, or third base. This drill should be performed nonstop for 30 seconds.

Catcher should wear shin/knee guards and stand in athletic stance. Start drill and have catcher drop to knees and bring hands down as if trapping/blocking a low pitch. Immediately spring up into a squat, jump and turn left in one motion, back to the middle, to the left, and back to the middle again. Repeat until 30 seconds has elapsed.

This is a great drill for developing leg strength as well.
