Soccer Foot Work Drill: Center of Thigh First Touch


  

 

Teach players to receive the ball and gain control by using the center of their thigh as the first touch.

1) Have players throw the ball up to themselves, lift knee up high and lower the knee as the ball comes down, receiving it with the center of their thigh. Players should focus on hitting it with their thigh, and not their knee.

2) have players take turns tossing the ball up to each other as if it's coming straight at them, from another direction. Players should use the same method as described above: First touch should be with the center of the thigh.

This is a great soccer drill for youngsters.
