- Set the tee at the player's belt height, positioned over the front part of home plate.
- Players wait in a line for their turn, standing well clear of the swing area.
Instructions
- Player sets up in a balanced stance, feet shoulder-width apart, both hands on the bat.
- Take a small stride and swing level through the ball, keeping eyes on the tee through contact.
- Finish the swing with hands high and both eyes still looking at the point of contact.
- Reset the tee and repeat for 8–10 swings before rotating to the next player.
Coaching Points
- A level swing path matters far more than power at this age — praise good contact over hard hits.
- Keep both hands on the bat through the entire swing, including the finish.
- Eyes on the ball through contact is the single most repeated cue in youth hitting — keep saying it.
- Celebrate solid contact loudly; confidence matters more than mechanics perfection right now.
Variation
Move the tee to different heights (low, middle, high) to practice adjusting the swing plane, or add a soft toss once the tee swing is consistent.
