Setup

  • Two lines form at half court: one at the wing for shooters, one at the elbow for rebounders.
  • First shooter and rebounder have a ball to start each line moving.
Full-Court Layup Line DrillSShootersRRebounderslayupreboundTwo lines, full sprint; make → outlet → next shooter goes

Instructions

  1. The shooter sprints in, receives or carries the ball, and finishes a layup at full speed.
  2. The rebounder times their sprint to catch the make (or miss) before it hits the floor twice.
  3. The rebounder becomes the next outlet passer; the shooter joins the rebounding line.
  4. Keep both lines moving continuously for 8–10 makes each direction.
Coaching Points
  • Full sprint the whole way — this drill loses its conditioning value if players jog.
  • Both hands finishing, not just the dominant hand; alternate sides of the court.
  • Rebounders should attack the ball at its highest point, not wait for it to drop.
  • Keep the two lines moving in sync so there's no standing around waiting.

Variation

Add a defender trailing the shooter for a contested finish, or require the off-hand layup only on one full lap through the line.
