- Mark a grid; select 2–3 taggers without a ball, everyone else has a ball inside the grid.
- Taggers use a gentle two-hand touch, no kicking or grabbing.
Instructions
- Dribblers move around the grid trying to avoid being tagged while keeping control of their ball.
- A tagged player freezes in place with their ball until a teammate dribbles close enough to "unfreeze" them with a tap.
- Rotate taggers every 90 seconds so everyone gets a turn.
- Keep the grid small enough that the game stays fast-paced.
Coaching Points
- Heads up scanning for taggers, not staring down at the ball the whole time.
- Small touches make it easier to change direction quickly to avoid a tagger.
- Unfreezing a teammate is a great chance to practice a close, controlled dribble past a stationary player.
- Keep it light and fun — this is a conditioning and control drill wearing a game costume.
Variation
Require dribblers to use only their weak foot, or add a second ball for advanced players to control two at once.
