- Player stands a few feet from a solid wall with a ball.
- Enough space to move side to side as the ball rebounds.
Instructions
- Toss the ball against the wall and bump it back using a forearm platform as it rebounds.
- Continue bumping the ball against the wall continuously, moving the feet to stay in line with the rebound.
- Count consecutive controlled bumps against the wall.
- Reset and try to beat the previous count.
Coaching Points
- Moving the feet to the ball, not just reaching, is the entire point of this repetitive drill.
- Keep the platform flat and consistent on every contact for a predictable rebound.
- This individual drill is perfect for players to practice on their own between team sessions.
- Celebrate improvement in consecutive count over multiple attempts, not just a single best try.
Variation
Add an overhead-set version against the wall once forearm passing is consistent, or set a time limit for a fast-paced challenge.
